Think our data about you is wrong?

If your name has come up in something Exclia produced and you believe it is wrong, write to us and a person will look into it. There is nothing to pay, you do not need an account, and you do not need anyone to write on your behalf.

These are interim terms, published so you can read them while evaluating Exclia. They have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer, and a reviewed version replaces them before Exclia launches publicly. They describe how the product actually works today, which is why they are worth reading now.

What Exclia is, so you know who you are writing to

Exclia is a small service that reads exclusion and sanction lists published by US government authorities — the OIG’s list, the federal SAM list, and state Medicaid lists — and tells healthcare organizations when someone on their roster resembles a record on one of those lists.

Exclia does not put anyone on those lists, cannot take anyone off them, and does not decide anything about you. It reports what a public list says, along with the version of the list it read and the day it was retrieved.

Exclia never states a final adverse conclusion about a person automatically. Every potential match is reviewed by a person, and the reasoning behind that review is recorded.

Two different problems, with two different answers

It helps to know which one you have, though you do not need to work it out before writing — say what happened and we will tell you.

  • The public list itself has a record about you that is wrong. Only the authority that publishes the list can change that, and we will tell you which list it is, which version we read, when we retrieved it, and who publishes it — so you are writing to the right place with the right details.

  • Exclia read the list correctly but connected the record to the wrong person, or reported something the list does not actually say. That one is ours, and we correct it.

How to tell us

Send one email to the address below. There is no form to fill in and no account to create.

It helps if you can tell us your name as it was written in whatever you saw, where you saw it — a report, a certificate, a free-check result, or a letter from an organization you work with — and what you believe is wrong. If you only have some of that, send what you have.

Please do not send us a Social Security number. Exclia does not store them and we do not want one: there is no field for it in the product, and we can identify a record without it.

What happens after you write

Your message opens a case rather than landing in an inbox. We acknowledge it within 5 business days, a person reviews the record against the source we read, and you get a written answer within 30 days saying what the review found and anything we changed.

Your message, what the review looked at, and the answer we sent are all recorded on that case. If a correction is made, it is recorded alongside the original entry rather than replacing it, so the history still shows what we had and what we changed it to.

If you think the answer is still wrong, reply and the case reopens. There is no limit on that and no charge for it.

What we will not do

We will not charge you, ask you to sign anything, or require you to go through the organization that told you about this. We will not ask for a Social Security number or a payment detail — if a message claiming to be from Exclia asks you for either, it is not from us.

We will not repeat back to you what a list says about you unless you ask us to. Some people want the detail and some do not, and it is your choice which.

What we hold about you, and asking us to remove it

You can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Where the record is on a customer’s roster, that customer decides what is on it and we pass the request to them and help them answer — the privacy policy explains that split and how to reach us about it.
